The restoration of the Kaleto Fortress has been implemented within the frames of the Integrated Development of Cultural and Historical Tourism of Montana Municipality project. The main goal of the project is the restoration and conservation of the ancient Roman fortress, renewal of its adjoining infrastructure and its transformation into an accessible and attractive tourist site.

Implemented Activities: Recovery and conservation of the fortress walls, construction of ruined and eroded sections of the existing stone walls; completion of inner alleys network; construction of steps, retaining walls and protection railings; landscape engineering, installation of information centre for visitors, new lighting, benches and waste bins; reconstruction of a nearby intersection – Treti Mart blvd., Hristo Botev blvd., Izvora str. and Shipka str.; construction of a parking lot and pedestrian lane in order to improve the access to the cultural and historic attraction.
