Infra Holding To Modernize Lighting of Varshets Municipality

Osvetlenie Varshets 2013 Association, with leading partner Infra Roads Ltd., signed contract for the implementation of Reconstruction and Upgrading of Street Lighting in Varshets Municipality – the town of Varshets, the villages of Spanchevtsi, Dolna Bela Rechka, Gorna Bela Rechka, Stoyanovo, Dolno Ozirovо, Gorno Ozirovo, Cherkaski, and Draganitsa. The contract was signed on 23.07.2014 by Anton Arnaoudov, Manager of Infra Roads Ltd. and authorized representative of the Association and the Mayor of Varshets Municipality, Eng. Ivan Lazarov.

The project for the complete renewal of the street lights of Varshets town and the other settlements within the range of the Municipality is implemented with funding from the European Union through the Rural Development Programme 2007-2013. The value of the contract for conducting the envisaged construction works stands at BGN 1,491, 997.44 VAT excluded, and the term of implementation is 4 months.

Within the frames of the project, the existing street and park lighting will be replaced by new energy efficient light fixtures of increased light yield, longer operational term and modern design. Replacement of the existing aerial network by a new network and implementation of a system for centralized management of lighting are also envisaged.
This is one of the biggest projects implemented in Varshets Municipality. Its realization will not only ensure better quality of lighting meeting the contemporary European standards, but will also contribute to the overall improvement of the urban environment,Varshets Mayor eng. Ivan Lazarov said.

The main goals, which are expected to be achieved through the implementation of the project, are lower costs for maintenance of the street lighting, less traffic accidents and higher level of protection of pedestrians, more aesthetic vision of the included settlements and better throughput of the street network.
